Back To School Birthday FREEBIE! We have recently added a new product to our FREE RESOURCE LIBRARY that you might be able to use in your classroom right away! For birthdays, we like to give our students a little treat. For years I would buy Happy Birthday pencils and then struggle to pass them out on the kids birthdays. I would always start off the year on the right foot, but as the year progressed, weekends and vacations caused me to forget who got a pencil … [Read more...]
Nightly Reading: Ditching the Reading Log
Fighting the Home Reading Battle No More... I fought the “Home Reading Battle” for many years…I think that we all have. We assign home reading because we know how important it is for students to strengthen their reading skills and improve their reading fluency. We want kids to love reading and make reading part of their daily life. We assign a “Reading Log” to track their reading because we certainly don’t want them to lie to us and tell … [Read more...]

That is crazy and it has lead to very fragmented instruction. We just finished up our unit on perimeter and are just starting to dip our toes into the "fraction pool." We wanted to find a fun activity to have our students do for Maker's Monday this week, … [Read more...]
