I was looking for a fun way to practice multiplication in my classroom for Maker’s Monday this week. I had done something similar to this Multiplication Turkey Craftivity in years past, but I decided to make it more streamlined this year. I created printable templates that I can just send through the copier and print on colored paper.
This is a fun and crafty way to help your
students demonstrate an understanding of math multiplication facts. Prior to teaching this lesson, you will need
to make copies onto colored paper. I
tend to cut construction paper to fit in the copy machine, but there is also
colored copy paper available too.

I put a bin with materials at eachgroup. Students needed one body, one
of each strip, eyes (or marker to draw eyes), and scraps for beak/legs. I also passed out the following directions:
1.Solve
the multiplication fact on the belly of your turkey.

3.Use gluestick to
assemble the turkey. Loop the feather
and glue. Then attach to the back of the
body so that you can see the writing.

4.Add
eyes, a beak, and feet.

5.Make

The best part is that this will double as a bulletin board!
